This is
a CD ROM (A CD that you put into your computer to run), which will then
work the same way as a webpage does (But you don't need Internet access).
Please note: I am unsure whether this is Mac compatible.
Suitable
for the Northern and Southern Hemispheres!
I have
combined my Witchcraft course with all my smaller classes and added a Witchcraft
2 class. As an added bonus, the CD also comes with a copy of all
my booklets, The spells from my Spell Scrolls and Spellboxes, the rituals
from my Ritual Scrolls and parts from the Obsidian's Book Of Shadows website
(http://bos.obsidianstar.net).
The CD contains the following:
Information from Obsidian's Book
Of Shadows Webpage:
Information taken from sections
of my webpage and included on the CD to give an easy (offline) reference
guide for various things.
-
Magickal Information - This is most of the Magickal
Information section from "Obsidian's Book Of Shadows" website. Most
of this information is included in the Witchcraft classes, but is also
included here as a quick reference.

Glossary - A Glossary of common (and not so common)
Pagan terms you might come across.
-
Links to Pagan websites - A page of links to other
websites of interest for Pagans.
-
Pagan Songs and Chants - This page lists some of the
more commonly used chants and songs in Pagan rituals. It gives the
words and several places where you may download the song/chant as a "wav"
file (Which you can listen to on your computer to learn the tune).
-
Bibliography - A list of some of the books available
on Magick/Paganism/Wicca/Witchcraft. This list was compiled several
years ago, so does not list some of the newer books. It does give
a lot of books for you to look out for though.
-
Books I have read - This section is a list of all
the books I have personally read (Up until I stopped updating the page
in 2001), and my opinions on them. It is not so much of a review
of the books (although in most cases I will give a small review on the
type of information in the book), but it is more like a guide to what I
believe are the more worthwhile books and which ones I think should be
avoided. I stress this is my opinion only!
Obsidian's Booklets:
A version of the booklets I have written, in webpage
format. The same information as the booklets have, so this is great
value! A lot of this information is also included in the Witchcraft
classes, but is also offered here as a quicker guide.

to answer any questions you might have. You will be able to work
at your own pace, although the classes are designed to be done weekly over
a 5 week period. There are optional assignments available at the
end of each weekly section for you to complete if you wish. The assignments
can help you to think of the information that you have read through, and
it might prompt you to look further into some areas. These courses
are designed to give you information, and as such there is no test/exam
at the end, no compulsary assignments. This course does not give
you any qualifications or certificates.
The Message
board for discussion/help can be found here.
For security and privacy it is password protected, and you will be given
the password with the CD. (If I have forgotten to give you the password,
please e-mail me to let me know)
So that is quite a bit of information
packed into the one CD!
The
cost of the Book Of Shadows CD, is $40.00
Considering
that the Introduction to Witchcraft course was $60 on its own, and this
CD has the second course, spells, rituals, part of the website and the
booklets, you're looking at around $350 value if you bought all the ritual
and spell scrolls, booklets and paid for the 2 classes... so that works
out as a pretty good deal!
Postage

(If you
order another item as well, then the postage and packing costs will be
higher.)

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: "How
long does the course go for? "/ "How long can I take to do the course"
A: As
long as you take... I designed it to go in 5 one week sections for each
course. When I taught physical courses, this was roughly what I went
through in each 2 hour class But if you want, you can go through
it all in 1 day, or take 6 months.
Q: "Is
it accredited?"
A: No.
I doubt there is accreditation for something like this. Witchcraft
was only recently made legal in Victoria, and I believe it still is illegal
in some Australian states, so I believe that alone would make accreditation
of a Witchcraft course impossible. I think for a course to be accredited
you would have to have a set syllabus, and only pass students if they successfully
complete that. Trying to create a set syllabus and testing students
on it would be difficult in Witchcraft.
So...
no. It's just for your own enjoyment and information.
Q: "Do
you get a certificate at the end of the course?"
A: Err...
I could get out a pretty piece of parchment, a gold shiny sticker and print
off some funky looking thing, but there would be no point as they would
be worthless - since there is no accreditation. I can't give you
a certificate to claim you are a Witch... You generally only
get a certificate to prove you can do something... and everyone has
the potential to do Witchcraft. I know of other Witchcraft courses
can give out certificates, but frankly I can''t see the point. If
you want one, feel free to grab a crayon and write something up yourself,
because anything I do won't be any more legitimate ;)
Q: "Can
you send a certificate anyway?"
A: If
you really want a piece of paper to say you have done something... I can
send you a pretty piece of paper, to say that you have completed the course,
if you complete all the optional assignments and send them to me.
It won't be a certificate, just a piece of paper to say you have done my
course.
