I made the wee weeka gusset nappy,
but made it longer and a bit wider.. I needed to add a scrap of PUL to
the tabs to make them long enough since the nappy cut was a bit too narrow.
Thats when I had a flash of brilliance and decided to cover the join with
a decorative feature!
Because my littlie loves sheep, I'd kept some offcuts from the Pjs I made her (the same fabric as her "baa" nappy), because I thought I could use the sheep to applique on something, so I did, on each side of her nappy! How clever am I ;) Because She is larger, we don't need the velcro to go right across the front, so I'd only put velcro where I needed it (and I only had dark blue, not so nice on light coloured PUL)... |
This time I basically made my own pattern, a bit more of an underwear shape, and I made the tabs seem longer by its shape. There is not a lot you can do to change a nappy pattern much, but though it looks the same as the one above, it is actually shaped differently. I think it fit quite well... though visually it needed work. The tabs weren't long enough for a start. This time I also sewed the velcro on before sewing the 2 pieces together. Sounds obvious, but I forgot before. |

But the crotch is too wide (taking the gussets out didn't mean I needed to widen the crotch obviously). After doing all these FOE edged nappies we discovered she's allergic to FOE .... d'oh! |

I lost pics for some of the
other nappies I did.... here are some more

A rainbow semi-AIO thing.... another 2 pockets, one with snaps one with velcro (terrible pic).....a terry outer fitted (testing an idea) and something tryng to be more underpants-like (did not work well at all)....I also made 3 more pockets from Dora fleece :) but I don't have pics.
