Putt-Putt
Poets.
1st December 2004, 5.48pm
Two words. GDS. launch. Does an acronym count
as a word?

Anyway, it's that time of year again - time for
the launch of the latest issue of that fantabulastic literary magazine
known to all as Going Down Swinging. Everyone's favourite
bastion of independent literature and spoken word is proud to present
its 22nd issue for the betterment of the state of writing in this
wide brown land and beyond.
Head along to the Old Colonial Hotel in Fitzroy
(specifically, 127 Brunswick Street) on December the 9th at around
7.30 and be amazed by the ways that we've found to combine the
seemingly disparate worlds of literature and golf. We've got literary wunderkinder Simon
Hall and Nathan Curnow battling to reach par in a putt-for-putt
poetry match. We've got poets extraordinaire Aminah Hughes and
jeltje teeing off in sequence. We've got raffle prizes including
book vouchers, DVDs and alcohol. We've got world-champion MC Peter
Salmon doing what he does best. And if that's not enough, we've
got free showbags for the first 100 punters through
the door.
Oh, and we're selling the book for cheap, too.
Five bucks gets you entry for the gig, and ten bucks gets you entry
with a copy of the book for your very own to take home and love
and hug and squeeze and call George.
See you there, no?
