This I Recommend to You.
22nd December 2004, 6.18pm
The Webcomics Examiner has
released its best webcomics of 2004 list. Quite a lot of the comics
they've picked are free to access - the rest are available through
those subscription-based sites that let you see the current one
for free, but don't let you read the archives. One of the best
of their picks is "A Lesson is learned but the Damage is Irreversible",
which is just jaw-droppingly beautiful in its fusion of high art
and pop culture, a continually perplexed and bittersweet tragedy
set in a colour-saturated dreamworld. You know the kind of thing:
full of lion-headed consensual stalkers, glowing power-pyramids,
infinitely-regressing flashbacks, poetically-tempered explanations
and guns whose bullets only pierce the flesh of your true love.
Anyway, here's a snippet. Maybe if you clicked on it something
would happen.
