Preliminary Comment: Since 1999, Allan Chandler and I (Rod Johnston) are extremely proud to have been recognised by the tourism and general business community by our many awards. We thank the judges and organisations who voluntarily support these awards, and sincerely recommend the awards process to any business, committed to their customers, providing quality and "knowing where they are going". (Rod Johnston - May 2003)

Acknowledgments: We wish to publicly thank "package partners" Bay Connections Wildlife Coast Cruises and McLeod Eco Farm (suppliers of our "chemical free" biodynamic luncheon) for their confidence in the French Island product, their joint promotions and commitment to quality and high customer focus. We regard "OUR" awards as "joint" awards and recommend any customers to experience our "partners" other products such as Seal Rocks and Wilson's Promontory tours, McLeod Eco Farm Accommodation etc.

At last, after being close runners up in the two previous years, we won, and very proud winners too. Thanks to all concerned.

5. Finalist, Australian Tourism Awards 2002, Ecotourism Category

On February 21, 2003, we competed against other State winners in the 2003 Australian Tourism Awards, against major attractions from the Daintree Forest, Ayres Rock, Dolphin Swims of WA, etc.

Although, we did not win, it was an honour to represent Victoria in such prestigous company. To see French Island splashed in front of the who's who of the Australian Tourism Industry was a real thrill and achievement.
