1. Location

McLeod is located on the south-east coast of French Island, Western Port Bay, Victoria Australia.

Access is by ferry from Stony Pt. near Hastings, Mornington Peninsula or Cowes, Phillip Island. The ferry trip takes approximately 12 to 15 minutes. (See "How to get there")

Road transfers from Tankerton, through the French Island National Park, take approximately 25 minutes, over unmade roads. Some visitors like to cycle taking several hours to travel the 29 km, often coming across koalas, echidnas, blue tongue lizards, birds of prey, rare orchids, and many understory birds etc.

This is a great opportunity to soak in the atmosphere of the Island, "catch the French Island bug" (ie the isolation, scenery, nature, heritage etc) from your driver.
