Please Note: French Island and Tortoise Head Lodge does not appeal to everyone.

The Lodge is currently undergoing ongoing cosmetic restorations, such as improving water and energy systems, repainting, installing new weatherboards, etc all aimed at increasing customer comfort. French Island, is two-thirds National Park, with no made roads, few facilities and can never be compared to the “Gold Coast”, and nor does it want to be. To people who love the outdoors, bush walking, cycling, eco-touring, cosy fires, good food, and nature, or simply shedding stresses of modern living, French Island and the Lodge are Heaven!
