Computer Transition Systems is now the Australian representative for Portland Group. Portland Group produces high performance optimizing compilers [Fortran, C, and C++] for multicore 64 bit and 32 bit based workstations, servers, and clusters using Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. The compilers feature fast excution of compiled code, fast compilation, graphical patrallel MPI/OpenMP debugger and profiler, unified binaries that provide optimal results for both Intel and AMD cpus, and HPF support. There are a large number of compiler packages offered by PGI. In US dollars [no GST] they can be found at the PGI Prices Page. There are essentialy three major product catagories -
PGI Visual Fortran
Workstation compilers
Server (multiuser) compilers
Cluster Development Kit (CDK) compilers

Each compiler package also comes in two editions; the standard edition and the accelerator edition. The accelerator edition has the capability of the standard edition plus it has the ability to utlize NVIDIA gpu chips as array porcessors. This can result in enormous increases in execution speed.

The single machine Visual Fortran compiler is products -
one with Visual Studio [$693 (academic $290)]. The academic PGI Visual Fortran includes NVIDIA gpu support.
