of Legend and Lore
Setting Details
"of Legend and Lore" is a Dungeons & Dragons d20 adventure set in a world with almost no Arcane magic. Sorcerers and Wizards are incredibly rare, and Bards do not exist at all. The most powerful Arcane spellcasters are probably 5th or 6th level, whereas Divine magic is as prevalent as it is in normal D&D worlds.
The five player characters are all characters who have gained at least a couple of levels of either Sorcerer or Wizard. There are some minor modifications to what the characters will have access to because of the lack of power, but all of these will be included on the character sheet.
Powerful Arcane magic items are unheard of in the game world "of Legend and Lore" is set in, however there are some items around that are created by clerics and druids. The only magic items that rely on Arcane magic that the characters will have are a few scrolls.
Magical beasts and abberations are only stories of legend in the lands the characters have come from, mostly because of the lack of Arcane Magic, and the characters have not encountered any of these creatures in their journeys.
No specific details is being gone into the religions of this world. All people worship "The Gods" and the clergy is broken up into Orders which each have differing philosophies.
The Order of Sacharine is the main one in the game, being the one that the cleric in the group is a member of. The Order of Sacharine is dedicated to knowledge and learning, and each member has access to the Knowledge domain. When they achieve first level they start to search out their field of study. When they find it they perform a ritual to see if The Gods bless their choice. They know they have chosed right when they are granted access to another domain of Divine magic.
All of the relevant history for the game is provided in Raneen's Tale, and all players should read it before playing the game. We have tried to be consise, so it should not take too long for you to read.
