The Warrambungle Mountains, Coonabarabran, NSW
The Warrambungles are a series of ancient volcanic cores, similar to the
Glasshouse Mountains, but much smaller and closer together. The core in
the centre of this picture is known as the Breadknife. The extremely athletic
can climb the Mountains, the slightly less athletic can follow some tricky
walking tracks (involving the climbing of chain ladders and other feats
of agility) around their bases, and the non-athletic (or sane) masses can
admire them at a distance from the lookout near the entrance to the park,
which is where I took this photo.
