I have a travel blog and an alcohol blog.
About
I'm a Ph.D. graduate of the University of Melbourne, an almost-qualified commercial cook, a brewer of alcoholic beverages, and a (very) amateur ice hockey player. My bachelor degrees are in Maths and in Software Engineering.

Research
My main area of research is the modelling and analysis of emergent dynamics in
complex systems, through the use of networks and graph automata. My PhD thesis
concerned the study of such dynamics in the kidney.
I have also worked on methods to improve the reliability of software components
in safety-critical systems.
LiteShell
A minimalistic replacement shell for Win95 to WinXP. Originally written for my
486 laptop, with a 502mb hard drive and 32mb RAM (upgraded from 8mb). First
written in Delphi and then converted into naive, inexpert C++. It is perhaps
still useful as a learning tool, and has been licensed by a Canadian company
that develops CCTV systems.
