Make a Donation
Apart from details of
donations we are trying to organise ourselves, this website will contain
a list of aid organisations that will accept donations of menstrual products.
Both disposable and reusable. You can make a donation (fabric, pads,
money) to these, depending on what donations they would prefer.
(For more information on
why disposables or reusables would be appropriate, see the Disposables
Vs Reusables page)
Agencies accepting donations of pads:
(If you can sew pads yourself, these agencies will accept
donations of these)
-
http://www.shantiuganda.org-
The Shanti Uganda Society. Accepts donations of cloth pads for use
in maternity kits as well as for schools and other aid for women in Uganda.
-
http://padsforprison.googlepages.com
- Pads for Prisons project. Accepts donations of cloth pads to send
to Sudan to be given to prison inmates and staff.
Businesses who will donate pads on your behalf:
(If you cannot sew pads yourself, these places are offering
deals where you can buy their pads, and they will ship them to an organisation
to donate)
Agencies accepting cloth pads or fabric:
Agencies accepting disposable products or Money:
(I imagine most aid agencies provide disposable products
to women and accept donations, but here is a small list to give you some
ideas)
-
http://www.actsa.org
- An agency working in Zimbabwe. Only accepts monetary donations
as it prefers to have disposable products made in Zimbabwe to support the
local economy, and water shortage means reusable products are not possible.
-
http://www.tampontification.com/donate.php
- Works with Womens Shelters in America. Donate organic cotton tampons
or chlorine free pads.
-
http://www.alolafoundation.org
- Creates Maternity packs for women in East Timor including cloth pads.
Only accepts monetary donations for women there to make the pads.
Other places that may be open
to donations of menstrual products are womens shelters (for homeless and
abused women). http://www.shelters.org
has details of shelters in America and Canada. Many orphanages will
need menstrual products for the young women there, and some schools in
impoverished areas may accept some too (for times when a girl student is
in need and would otherwise have to go home) You may also have luck
going to your local Church group, as they may do care packages to local
impoverished families.
Please note that this website
is not affiliated with any aid organisations, and that any donations you
make to any organisations are between you and them.
This website is not run
by a charity or aid organisation.
