Cloth menstrual pads are a reusable sanitary pad that
you wash, dry and reuse over and over again.
Cloth pads are softer on the skin and more natural. Made from material instead of plastics they are also better for the environment (and your wallet), as they are re-used rather than thrown away to become land fill. The old pads make great compost and the water you rinse the pads in is a great fertilizer. Being made of cotton and natural fibres, the skin can breathe, and apparently this reduces the possibility of getting yeast infections (thrush). You change them as often as you would a disposable, so in that respect it is no different to using disposable pads. The only difference is that after you finish with a cloth pad, you rinse it out, wash it, dry it and re use it. It doesn't get tossed in a bin to fill up land fill.
I've actually created a website devoted to cloth pads
(and nappies) which is more up to date.
