This is magic made by tying knots in a consecrated length of cord. The traditional length for the cord is nine feet long but any length cord long enough will work. Some traditions use their cords as a belt around their waist and wear them aduring rituals (when not in use of course), some people use them like any magickal tool, and have it on the Altar when not in use. Chose a coloured cord suitable for the situation (Or plain white), and say the wish as you tie the knot, keep trying knots until you feel like stopping. You may wish to place a dab of essential oil onto each knot to seal the wish into each one. Or you could use a bit of sealing wax. Another way of doing cord magick is to tie 9 knots to seal in the power of the spell, and then release it a knot a day for 9 days. In this way you can store the energy of a Full Moon to release it at another time if required. If you
are using the 9 knot tying method, it is a good idea to put a bead or tassel
on one end, so that you know which end to start from when tying the knots
as you will begin and start from the same end. Take the end with
the bead, and while thinking of the wish, tie the first knot and say the
first line. Then tie a knot in the opposite end, and say the second
line. Continue tying the knots following the pattern below (The *
signifies the knot and the -- is the cord)
After you have tied the last knot, all the energy is stored in the knots. To release the power, you must untie the knots. these can be released one at a time - one a day - for nine consecutive days, or straight away. Release
them in the same order in which they were tied, NOT the reverse order.
(eg On the first day untie the knot that was first tied (the one next to
the bead) and put it away. On the second day untie the second knot
etc). As you untie each knot, say the chant again, and visualise the wish.
