This is
a recipe for a creamy Bacon Pasta sauce.
Serves:
2
Freeze?
Microwave?:
You can
probably freeze this, Maybe about 3 months (because it has meat in it).
I wouldn't try microwaving it to cook it... since it needs frying.... You
could microwave it to reheat it.
Ingredients:
1/2 medium
Onion
1 Clove
Garlic
Fresh
Chives (about a handful)
2 Mushrooms
(Optional)
4 Rashers
Bacon
Pepper
to taste
Cheese
(optional - I'd use 2 low fat cheese slices)
300 Ml
Low Fat Cream
Preparation
time:
Probably
around 15 minutes.... as long as it takes Pasta to cook.
Method:
1).
Put the Pasta on to boil.
2).
Chop the Bacon into bite sized pieces. Finely chop the onion and
garlic.
3).
Fry the Bacon until about half cooked. Add the Onion and fry until
Bacon and Onion are browned. Add the Garlic, Mushrooms and Chives.
Fry these until starting to brown.
4).
Add Cream, and stir well. Simmer and add the cheese. Simmer
until the cream thickens. If you want to thicken it quickly (and
don't
want it to reduce down), then add sopme corn flour. To do that, mix
1 teaspoon of Corn flour with about 2-3 teaspoons of water and blend well.
Add this to the pan (while it is simmering), and it will thicken instantly.
5).
Either serve this poured over pasta, or mix the pasta through then serve.
