Mexicans
will probably kill me for butchering their food.... but this is my version
of them.
Kinda
a cross between a burrito and a souvlaki or Donna Kabab I guess..
Ingredients:
Burrito
tortillas
tomato
lettuce
beef
strips
cheese
corn
flour
herbs
and spices (Chili, curry, basil, corriander, cumin, cardamon, ginger, salt
and pepper.. etc.)
garlic
onion
Sour
cream - optional
Method:
1).
Fry the meat strips with some finely chopped garlic and onion and herbs/spices.
2).
Put 2 teaspoons of cornflour into a coffee mug, and add about 1/4 cup of
milk. Stir well.
3).
add the milk mix to the meat, and simmer until it thickens.
4).
Take a tortilla and spread grated cheese in a strip down the centre of
it. Pop this in the microwave for 20 seconds, or until the cheese
melts. If you don't have a microwave (like we didn't until recently),
wet the tortilla using a pastry brush in water, and put it under the grill.
keep brushing it to stop it getting crispy while the cheese melts.
5).
Put some of the meat mix on the cheese, then a small amount of lettuce
and a slice of tomato. I also like a little bit of sour cream if
I have it in the fridge.
6).
Wrap the burrito up and scoff it!
