WHAT'S NEW

12th January, 2003 - VERSION 1.7.0

Obviously there has been a slight delay with the release of 1.7.0, it will be available on this page if and when I find the time to finish it.

Refer to HISTORY.TXT included with the program for detailed changes, updates, and bug fixes.

INTRODUCTION

Welcome all Northern Exposure fans! Please take a moment to look around the home of the The Complete Northern Exposure Episode Guide (NXEG for short), a freeware program I have written for all Northern Exposure fans to make viewing of the NX Episode Guide quicker, easier, and more fun.

I hope you can spare the time to download my program, and enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed creating it. If you have any questions about this program, web page, or anything else NX related, please don't hesitate to mail me, I will do my best to answer any questions you may have. 	Viewer Notes - Add your own additional notes, keywords, phrases, quotes etc to each episode, and optionally have them included in search and printing functions.

AUTOMATIC INSTALL If your not sure how to deal with all these ZIPs, EXEs, folders, shortcuts, and run-time files, download this version for a easy installation that will take care of everything automatically.

MANUAL INSTALL If you don't want to download a large installation package, or you have downloaded previous version of NXEG, and just want update the program files, download the files you require below.

Note: This program is written in Visual Basic 6.0 SP3. Therefore the Visual Basic 6.0 SP3 run-time files are required in your Windows System folder. If you know you already have these files, you don't need to download them again. If this all sounds too confusing, just download the automatic install version above.

INSTALLATION

Automatic Installation

Run NXEG160.EXE to start the installation procedure.

Manual Installation

Unzip NXEG160.ZIP to a folder of your choice, for example: C:\Program Files\NXEG.

The Visual Basic 6.0 SP3 run-time and supporting OLE files in MSVBVM60.ZIP must be copied to the Windows System folder. This is only required if MSVBVM60.DLL version 6.00.8495 or later is not located in the Windows System folder.

NOTE: Windows may not let you copy the new files over the old versions already in the System folder, you may have to re-start in MS-DOS mode to copy these files.

Now you can run NXEG32.EXE directly from the folder you selected in step one, or you can create a shortcut in your Start Menu or Desktop.

These instructions are also contained within the text file NXEG32.TXT, and HTML file NXEG32.HTML included in NXEG160.ZIP and installed by NXEG160.EXE.
